In June of 2025, the AIF hosted sniper training with logistical support from the Chin National Defense Force and the Chin Brotherhood Alliance. Lasting one month, the training brought together more than 64 comrades from 18 different resistance organizations.
Coming from all around the country, from different religions, ethnicities, and backgrounds, comrades completed the training course to increase their skills in the fight against the fascist military junta.
The Academy takes on the name of Obed Lal, a CNDF comrade and AIF sniper training graduate who fell martyr during the battle of Falam. The class was named after Tîjda Zagros, an internationalist comrade of the Free Women’s Units in the mountains of Kurdistan who fell martyr in April of 2025. With the example and sacrifice of the martyrs, we gain strength and inspiration to continue our struggle against the SAC dictatorship, and the fascism and patriarchy that it represents.

In October of 2024, one month before the beginning of the battle of Falam, occupying SAC soldiers of Battalion 268 fired their 122mm artillery indiscriminately into the villages surrounding Falam, resulting in the deaths of innocent civilians, mostly women and children. In response, a combined section of AIF and Chin Brotherhood drone and mortar teams launched a retaliatory, targeted attack on the 268 southern command building. Our comrades approached enemy lines, struck their targets effectively, and retreated without incident, demonstrating to the occupying army that no action against non-combatants and innocents will go unpunished.
